ORCA launches planned maintenance software for diving industry

ORCA, an Aberdeen HQ and Blackpool-based bespoke engineering and compliance company, has recently developed and launched a diving planned maintenance system.

The application, ORCA Maintenance Manager (OMM), has been designed to support the scheduling, recertification, and documentation of diving equipment maintenance.

Users can access the platform from a computer, tablet, or mobile device via a secure login. Once authenticated, they are able to add dive system assets and components.

During data entry, users select the relevant component type within the platform, which automatically generates a set of standard tasks typically associated with that component. In addition, users have the flexibility to create custom tasks to ensure that organisation-specific maintenance requirements are fully captured.

The platform enables users to utilise these tasks to record planned maintenance, unplanned maintenance, breakdowns, recertification activities, and equipment running hours, providing a comprehensive maintenance history for each asset.

The system has been designed and developed in-house as part of the company’s strategic growth plan, reflecting ORCA’s continued investment in digital solutions to improve safety, compliance, and operational efficiency within the diving industry.

The application is offered at a competitive annual fee of £99 per user licence, providing a cost-effective solution for diving companies seeking to strengthen their maintenance management processes. This pricing includes full onboarding, user training, and ongoing support, ensuring clients can implement the system quickly and operate it with confidence from day one.

Lee Duncan, Compliance Director at ORCA, added, “This launch is an exciting milestone for ORCA and a clear indicator of our growth trajectory as we continue to position ourselves as a leader in diving compliance. It also strongly complements our established diving technical authority services, further enhancing the value we deliver to clients.”

Established in 2015 by a family team with over 70 years of combined commercial diving experience, ORCA has evolved from a consultancy into a multi-division provider supporting global diving operations. The company delivers tailored engineering solutions for surface-supplied and saturation systems, develops innovative products to enhance safety and operational efficiency, and provides specialist compliance services including technical authorities, audits, and regulatory support. Backed by an integrated ISO-certified management system, ORCA offers clients a comprehensive, high-quality service across engineering, equipment, and compliance.
