ORCA Continues Growth with Appointment of Design Engineer

ORCA, the bespoke dive systems engineering company headquartered in Aberdeen, has strengthened its engineering capability with the appointment of Alex Miller as Design Engineer.

Alex brings a strong mechanical engineering background, with experience in avionics airframe integration, fabrication and assembly, ultrasonic non‑destructive testing, and the development of manufacturing build instructions and production plans. This practical, end‑to‑end design experience supports ORCA’s focus on delivering robust, operationally driven engineering solutions for complex dive systems.

With a background in aerospace design and a solid understanding of working within highly regulated engineering environments, Alex adds valuable analytical rigour and attention to detail to ORCA’s design function. His academic grounding in aeronautical and aerospace engineering further underpins a structured approach to engineering problem‑solving, design integrity, and verification.

Operating from ORCA’s Blackpool facility, Alex will work closely with the wider engineering team, supporting ongoing projects and contributing to the development of bespoke, high‑integrity dive systems as ORCA continues to grow its engineering footprint.
